Data Scientist – TIL Department (Technology Innovation LAB)

Role Overview

ESG& is seeking a talented and passionate Data Scientist to join our TIL (Technology Innovation Lab) team. As a Data Scientist, you will play a critical role in leveraging data to uncover insights, drive informed decision-making, and develop innovative solutions that contribute to the advancement of sustainability practices globally. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze complex datasets, build predictive models, and provide actionable recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand business objectives and translate them into data-driven solutions.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis, data preprocessing, and feature engineering to prepare data for modeling.
  • Develop and implement statistical and machine learning models to extract insights from large and complex datasets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering and product development, to deploy data-driven solutions into ESG&’s technology platforms.
  • Apply advanced analytical techniques to solve complex problems related to sustainability, ESG metrics, and environmental impact assessment.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate model performance, making improvements and adjustments as necessary.
  • Communicate findings and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders through clear and compelling visualizations, reports, and presentations.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in data science and sustainability to bring innovative ideas and approaches to the team.

Qualifications

  • Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of professional experience as a Data Scientist, applying statistical and machine learning techniques to real-world problems.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python or R, along with proficiency in data manipulation and analysis libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn).
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to effectively communicate insights and findings.
  • Solid understanding of statistical modeling, regression analysis, clustering, classification, and other machine learning algorithms.
  • Familiarity with big data technologies and distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of sustainability, ESG principles, and related reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB) is highly desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking abilities, and a passion for leveraging data to drive positive change.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
